Guide d'Utilisation
Orchidées, hydroponie et mélange personnalisé.
Three distinct applications where 70–80% AFP is the primary substrate requirement — from epiphytic orchids to aeroponic drainage matrices.

Orchids (Phalaenopsis, Cattleya, Vandas)
Chips replicate the bark-on-tree epiphytic habitat. 70–80% AFP reduces crown and root rot risk common in orchid cultivation. Chip structure maintains its form for 3–5 years before replacement.

Aeroponics Systems
Used as root chamber packing or drainage matrix. Ultra-high AFP ensures maximum oxygen delivery. Triple-washed chips prevent EC contamination in recirculating nutrient solutions.

Drainage & Blending
Mixed with coir pith at 30–80% ratios to increase AFP in custom commercial blends. Ideal bottom drainage layer in large container planting (palms, trees, outdoor planters).
Blending Ratios
Dial AFP and WHC to your spec.
Mix husk chips with coir pith at these ratios to hit the AFP and water-holding targets for your crop system.
| Blend Ratio | AFP | WHC | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| 20% pith + 80% chips | 55–65% | 25–35% | Orchids, epiphytes, aeroponics |
| 50% pith + 50% chips | 35–42% | 50–55% | Capsicum, strawberry DTW |
| 70% pith + 30% chips | 28–33% | 58–63% | Tomato, cucumber standard DTW |
| 100% chips (pure) | 70–80% | 20–25% | Pure orchid / drainage layer |
Usage Guide
Pre-rinse. Set up. Water deeply.
Chips require minimal preparation. Their structure handles irrigation cycles that would rot any peat-based medium.
01
Pre-rinse
Rinse chips once with clean water to remove fine particles. Let drain fully. Native EC < 0.5 — no further buffering needed for most applications.
02
Container Setup
Fill containers loosely — do not compress. For orchid mounting, place chips around roots allowing air circulation at the root collar. Chips self-settle without bridging.
03
Irrigation
Water thoroughly; 70–80% AFP means chips drain freely. For epiphytes, allow the substrate to partially dry between waterings — the same rest cycle they experience in nature.
