Growers behind
the substrate.

CVM Coir Substrates is a family-founded export house from the coconut belt of Tamil Nadu. Since 2002 we have built one thing: a substrate supply chain that professional growers can rely on — consistent EC, traceable origin, and a team that picks up the phone.

Our Story

Rooted in the
coconut belt.

Tamil Nadu produces more than 30% of India's coconuts. The husk — discarded as waste by most processors — is what we turn into the growing media that feeds greenhouses across Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific.

We started in 2002 with a single wash line and one principle: every batch shipped must match what was agreed on the spec sheet. No exceptions. That commitment built our first European relationships, and those relationships built the company.

Today we run multiple processing lines, a dedicated buffering facility, and a QC lab that tests EC, pH, moisture content, and compaction ratio for every batch before it leaves Tamil Nadu. We are not the biggest name in coir. We are the supplier that professional buyers call when consistency actually matters.

History

2002

Founded in Tamil Nadu

Started as a single processing unit in the coconut belt of Tamil Nadu — sourcing directly from local farms to ensure traceability from husk to substrate.

2012

First container exports

First full-container shipments to Europe and the Middle East. Established COA-on-every-batch as our non-negotiable standard from day one.

2016

RHP-compatible production

Upgraded wash, buffering, and drying lines to meet RHP substrate standards demanded by Dutch and German greenhouse buyers.

2019

Grow bag manufacturing

Added precision-filled grow bag production — custom volumes, EC targets, and bespoke formulations for distribution partners.

2023

Expanded production capacity

Significant investment in drying and buffering infrastructure — increased throughput, shorter lead times, and year-round container supply for international buyers.

2026

New substrate lines

Current expansion of drying and buffering capacity underway — new custom substrate lines targeting controlled-environment agriculture and specialist growers.

What we stand for

Four principles.
Every shipment.

01

Traceability

Every bag is traceable to the farm, the processing batch, and the lab analysis. No black-box supply.

02

Consistency

Batch-to-batch EC, pH, and moisture variation held below 5%. Your crop plans should never be derailed by substrate inconsistency.

03

Transparency

We publish specs, not marketing copy. EC targets, AFP values, and WHC are on every product page — not hidden in a PDF quote.

04

Partnership

We respond within 24 hours. Substrate selection, EC management, flush protocols — included as standard, not billed as consultancy.

How we make it

From husk to certified substrate

Six-stage processing: sourcing, fibre separation, triple-wash, buffering, lab QC, and export packing. Every stage documented, every batch traceable.
