Crop Guide

Suited for capsicum, aubergine, and berries.

Target EC, drain percentage, and dripper configuration for the three crops this slab is engineered for.

Capsicum & Sweet Pepper

Capsicum & Sweet Pepper

EC target

2.0 – 3.5 in-slab

Drain %

20 – 30%

Configuration

2 drippers/plant; slight generative stress in fruiting phase improves Brix

Configuration

Long-season crop — flush slab mid-season if EC rises above 4.0

High drain; wide opening allows easy runner removal and root inspection

Drainage Setup Protocol

Pre-saturate. Set drain. Close clean.

Correct slab preparation and drain geometry make the difference between consistent drain percentage and pooling.

01

Pre-saturate

Flood slabs 24 h before planting. Drain to 20–30% of slab volume. Check EC — target < 1.5 mS/cm before introducing nutrients.

02

Drain Holes

Cut 2–3 slits (10 mm) at slab ends on the bottom face. Angle slabs 1–2° toward drain to prevent pooling. Cut after pre-saturation only.

03

Season End

Flush with EC ≤ 0.5 water for 48 h. Spent slab is peat-free and suitable for soil amendment or composting.
